Burning Man Day 3… The G-Spot!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it’s HOT!!! Like clockwork at 7:30 in the morning… my tent is already like 80 I am never going to get any sleep here. My tent is 2 sizes too small for me. I don’t even fit corner to corner. How can they call this a 2 man tent! My friends are convinced I accidentally picked up the demo model on accident! Uunts Uunts Uunts Uunts Uunts Uunts… The music here NEVER stops!
I am having the time of my life!!!
OK so day 3! I’m up waaaaaaaaaaaaay earlier than necessary cause its HOT! But that’s OK! I wander over to the G-Spot (TK and Dave’s camp) and sit down. I settle in and immediately am offered a drink! Ahhhh… screwdrivers at 8am; it’s a beautiful thing! 50% fun factor!
Attention everyone… Karaoke in 15 min! This was repeated often at the G-Spot. TK our resident DJ, Social Director, Bartender and all around amazing host would announce it every now and then as a joke. So here’s the funny thing. Apparently for the fist like 3 days of this, one of the boys in the camp (Andrew Dos) would actually get up and find an excuse to take off for an hour or so. He’d go for a walk or a bike ride, he’d go read… HAHA!!! It took him 3 days to figure out we were just kidding!
So this morning at the G-spot, Dave and TK were doing breakfast. I donated some sausage and bacon (cause you can NEVER have enough bacon!) and we had some of the best biscuits and gravy that I have ever eaten. On the playa… it was amazing!
Today I decided to dedicate my time solely to the G-Spot! Hmmmm, what I wouldn’t give to hear a man tell me that, LOL!
So, after a lot of thought and the decision that I just didn’t have the money to make it happen I went to burning man without a bike this year. I don’t exactly know how to ride a bike. Or rather, I do but I am terrified of it. Mostly because I am afraid somebody will hit me and I will fall. I don’t like to fall… falling hurts! My idea was, I would buy a sturdy mountain bike suitable for my weight then get some training wheels. Everybody thought it was a great idea but like I said, limited funds and the insecurity of riding a bike without the trainers meant a lot of heel toe time for me! This apparently was not acceptable to the G-Spot attendees.
Today I got on a bike for the first time in 15 years. OK so it was a little scary but I got the hang of it. Dammit I should have brought a bike. I wish that the group of people that I had gone with would have encouraged me like my new G-spot friends did. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. A little nervous at the main intersection sections but for the most part, no issues… and no falling! :0)
Wednesday was a really kick back day for me. We really didn’t do anything but drink and hang out. Tuesday I met some people down at Barbie Death Camp; a teenage girl and her boyfriend from Hawaii. I promised them that if they came by and I was there that I would do some henna for them. They did in fact find me. The tattoo I did for this girl still remains one of my favorites so far. Maybe it’s just the pic but it’s a simple design and it’s gotten sooooo many compliments!
The rest of the day was mostly uneventful. I made my soup for everybody tonight. I was still getting comfortable with everybody and people were still slowly trickling into the G-spot. A girl with curly hair like mine and her surfer boyfriend…
I will continue the story in the next post…
