Giant Cock Seen @ Burning Man… Day 4!

Well… coming to the end of another absolutely wonderful day on the Playa… I can’t believe I am only just over half way through the week! It’s pushing towards 6pm on Day 4 and the dust storm is slowly settling down. It looks like rain but I promised my new friends at Barbie Death Camp that I would help host their meet n’ greet.

Since I never make a promise that I can’t keep… I wandered on down just before they were expecting me and put myself to work. Allison…AKA “Felony Arson” put together one hell of a spread considering the dust storm. There were smoked baby clams, cheese, crackers, grilled portabella mushrooms, tri tip steak and lots and lots of wine! Hehe… it was at this time when I discovered the usefulness of wine in a box, the size that’s about as big as a bottle. I became the “Mobil wine-pouring unit”.

I met a giant cock! (I actually ran into him at the decompression party this weekend here in Portland…) No it wasn’t actually a cock… it was a guy in a big chicken suit!

At any rate, it was fun helping out. That night they took me out on the art car. For whatever reason I decided to not wear my glasses, I didn’t see anything! But I did pour a lot of margaritas and have a genuinely great time! I was put in charge of the music; the booze and I got to play with the flamethrower! HAHA FIRE!!!

A few other random things that happened today… I met a really sweet guy named Kenya. He walked me home at the end of the night after we came back from the art car. I should have paid more attention to him; I think he really liked me. As much as I wanted to, it didn’t seem like I had enough time to make any real connections with anybody out there. He did turn out to be a pretty cool guy either way. :0)

I got a really great pendant from a friend of a friend today… It’s fused glass and has the burning man logo on it. I love it; I still haven’t taken it off!

I finally ran into Darrell, Rob and Peter, friends from various cities… San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle respectively. It was great running into Darrell. Random even… I was hangin out at donut-ville in the lounge area and there he was, doin the same thing. Kinda bummed out though, I don’t think he ever actually donned a costume. Rob is just a guy I have hung out with every now and then here in Portland. He’s part of the online social group thing I do. He just happened to be walking by camp and I think Heather recognized him. Funny guy Rob is. Then Peter, my burner friend from Seattle. He was with friends and kinda in a hurry to get going. I have seen him since then though at a party here in town. Same place I ran into the Giant Cock! Hehe…

I got to meet Andrew’s tarantula. That was much less kinky than it sounds… really; he brought his tarantula with him to burning man. It ended up dying in the second dust storm and at some point in time when I was off doing whatever, they gave it a eulogy and buried it. Her name was Matilda…

I got an amazing foot rub! Thanks Becky!

HAHA… I almost forgot. Every day after Wed. my crazy neighbor would get up shortly after I woke up around 8am and yell, “HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!!” Figure if he said it enough times maybe we would never really have to go home? Wouldn’t that be nice!
